Why SculpSure is Better than CoolSculpting

New laser technology that eliminates fat cells is making big strides in the cosmetic world, helping men and women contour their bodies by tackling stubborn deposits of fat. And there are generally two ways to go about this — freezing your fat or heating it up. Our SculpSure® system relies on the latter, and our patients couldn’t be more thrilled with the results.

At Lafferty Family Care, Dr. Scott Lafferty and our team pride ourselves on offering the most effective, evidence-based tools available to help our patients in Bentonville, Arkansas, look and feel great, both inside and out. To that end, we’ve chosen the FDA-cleared SculpSure fat-reduction system, which targets and destroys fat cells.

If you’re toying with the idea of body contouring, but you’re not sure which system to choose, here are some points you should consider.

Time is of the essence

Your life is busy, and we understand that. One of the reasons why we chose SculpSure over CoolSculpting® is that the treatment times are considerably shorter. To start, a typical SculpSure sessions lasts just 25 minutes, as opposed to 35-60 with CoolSculpting.

As well, the CoolSculpting system only has one applicator whereas SculpSure features four, allowing us to treat more than one area at the same time. For example, if you want to treat both of your love handles, with SculpSure we can treat them during one session in just 25 minutes. With CoolSculpting you have to treat them one at a time, taking up to two hours.

Comfort is key

Our SculpSure system is designed with your comfort in mind. The applicators rest gently on your treatment areas as they deliver laser energy into your fat cells, and they’re equipped with a cooling system so that you only feel a mild warming sensation.

With CoolSculpting, on the other hand, the applicator sucks your skin into a cup to freeze your fat. Not only is this uncomfortable, it limits the size of the treatment areas and limits where your fat can be treated, since not all tissue can be easily suctioned.

No downtime

While both systems tout noninvasive technologies that don’t require any downtime, the technician does need to massage or knead out your treatment areas after a CoolSculpting session. As well, you may be left with lingering numbness, bruising, and itching. In some cases, patients have reported “delayed onset pain” within days of treatment.

With SculpSure, once we remove the applicators, you really are free to go. Most of our patients report no side effects afterward, with a few experiencing mild tenderness which resolves itself quickly.

Drum roll, please

When it comes to results, our SculpSure system ensures that you’re left with the smooth, and slimmer, profile you set out to achieve by feathering the heat for natural-looking results.

With CoolSculpting’s suction system, you may be left with uneven results and even “shark bite” marks, which are indented areas that clearly delineate your treated and untreated areas.

Ultimately, patients speak for themselves, and SculpSure has garnered an 83-100% satisfaction rate compared to 73-93% for CoolSculpting. Get $200 off (20% off!) your first SculpSure treatment with us today.
