Now's the Time to Reduce Fat With SculpSure®

Winter can be a great time to hide behind layers and bulky clothes, but the spring and summer months are coming up fast. If you want to greet these warmer months with fewer pockets of stubborn fat, now’s the time to avail yourself of our innovative fat-reduction technology — SculpSure®.

To give you an idea of what we can (and cannot) accomplish with SculpSure, Dr. Scott Lafferty and the team here at Lafferty Family Care present the following information.

Where SculpSure shines

With SculpSure, we deliver laser energy directly into your fat cells to heat them up and destroy them. The technology is quite safe, and we use it to tackle pockets of stubborn fat in the following areas:

To manage expectations, it’s important to understand that SculpSure is a body-contouring treatment and not a weight-loss aid. The system is designed to tackle surface (subcutaneous) pockets of fat and does not help with visceral fat, which is deeper in your body and surrounds your organs.

SculpSure works best if you’re within or at your target weight, but deposits of fat stand between you and your body-shape goal. And these deposits can be stubborn and resist your efforts through diet and exercise. There are many reasons for this, such as age-related changes in the way your body distributes fat, but SculpSure can overcome these challenges.

Your SculpSure treatment timeline

While we briefly touched on how SculpSure works, we want to dive a little deeper. When we deliver the thermal energy into your fat cells, the cells absorb the heat and react. This process doesn’t happen overnight, as the fat cells break down gradually and then need to be flushed out through your lymphatic system.

In most cases, we perform a series of SculpSure treatments, which we space apart, to allow time for your body to respond. You may notice some difference within a few weeks, but optimal results are typically achieved in about 6-12 weeks. So, if you want to be ready for summer, you should get started on SculpSure now.

What to expect during your SculpSure treatments

If you’re worried about discomfort or downtime, there’s no reason. During your 25-minute SculpSure treatment, the device cools your skin at the same time as it delivers the heating energy. And this energy passes harmlessly through the surface of your skin and into your fat cells below.

After your SculpSure treatment, you’re free to get on with your day, which makes SculpSure a great lunch break.
